2015 Excellence in Youth Sports Award Winner

excellence-in-youth-awardFor more than a decade, the Excellence in Youth Sports Awards has recognized programs that are doing superior jobs of conducting diverse activities with a focus on providing safe and positive experiences for all participants - including children, parents and coaches. Each year hundreds of youth sports programs across the country and military bases worldwide vie to be an award winner. Developed by the National Alliance for Youth Sports and Athletic Business Magazine, the first Excellence in Youth Sports Awards were presented in 2000.

CYS Services Youth Sports

The Child, Youth, & School Services Sports and Fitness Programs are for children ages 5 through 18. Child participating in the program must either be a family member of active duty military personnel, retired military personnel, or a DOD civilian in Hawaii. Programs offered are continuously changing and improving to meet the needs of today’s youth. Our communities, youth, and parents have an active voice in planning developing and implementing innovative age appropriate programs.

Youth Sports and Fitness is looking for Officials, Referees, and Umps:
Youth Sports is looking for anybody in our military community who is interested in officiating in our youth sports programs. We are currently looking for officials for Flag Football and Basketball seasons. For further information please call AMR Youth Sports on 836-1923 or Schofield Barracks on 655-6465.

Youth Sports and Fitness Flag Football, Cheerleading, and Basketball Volunteers-  Youth Sports and Fitness is looking for volunteers to help coach flag football, cheerleading, basketball seasons. Practices are two nights a week from 5-6pm or 6-7pm. If interested please contact AMR/Ft. Shafter/Camp Smith on 836-1923 or SB/WAF/HMR on 655-6465.

Youth Sports and Fitness Mini Flag Football Registration - Youth Sports and Fitness open registration for Mini Flag Football from June 1-June 30. For youth born 2011-2012. The cost is $20. This a parent and child participation program. All participants will receive a t-shirt and football. Please ensure when registering they have complete CYS registration paperwork, Youth Sports registration paperwork, up to date shot record & physical that last through the season. If parent’s registering do not have up to date and completed paperwork with registration they will not be able to sign their youth up until all requirements have been met. Youth Sports and Fitness and AMR and Ft. Shafter SAC Olympic Day - June 17 at 10 a.m. AMR and Ft. Shafter SAC will compete in various activities for Olympic Day. These activities will help challenge their physical and cognitive skills as well as working on teamwork. Youth must already be enrolled in the AMR or Ft. Shafter SAC Summer Camp to participate. AMR Youth Sports and Fitness and AMR SAC Summer Fun Week - AMR YS&F and SAC are joining up together for another summer fun week. Summer fun week will take place June 13-June 17. During this week youth will be participating in Bike Safety Course, a beach day, and Olympic Day against Ft. Shafter SAC. Youth must already be enrolled in the AMR Summer Camp to participate. AMR Youth Sports and Fitness and Ft. Shafter SAC Summer Fun Week - AMR YS&F and Ft. Shafter SAC are joining up together for another summer fun week. Summer fun week will take place June 21-June 24. During this week youth will be participating in the Honolulu Zoo, Fishing Ponds, and much more. Youth must already be enrolled in the Ft. Shafter Summer Camp to participate. Schofield Barracks Youth Sports and Fitness - During the summer months Schofield Barracks YS&F office will be partnering up with all of their SAC and MST programs to run fun activities such as: parachute games, relay races, slip-n-slide kick ball and much more. Youth must already be enrolled in the Schofield Barracks SAC Summer Camps to participate. Any questions please call 655-6465.

Youth Sports and Fitness Folk Style Registration - Youth Sports and Fitness open registration for Folk Style Wrestling from July 1-July 31. For youth born 2011and older. The cost is $60. Please ensure when registering they have complete CYS registration paperwork, Youth Sports registration paperwork & physical that last through the season. If parent’s registering do not have up to date and completed paperwork with registration they will not be able to sign their youth up until all requirements have been met. Youth Sports and Fitness Free Homeschool PE - Youth Sports and Fitness will re-start their Homeschool PE classes starting the week of August 16th. AMR Homeschool PE class will start August 16 from 1100-1200. Schofield Barracks Homeschool class will start August 16 from 1130-1230. All participants must be registered to participate.
