CYSS Youth Sports

The Child, Youth, & School Services Sports and Fitness Programs are for children ages 5 through 18. Child participating in the program must either be a family member of active duty military personnel, retired military personnel, or a DOD civilian in Hawaii. Programs offered are continuously changing and improving to meet the needs of today’s youth. Our communities, youth, and parents have an active voice in planning developing and implementing innovative age appropriate programs.

Youth Sports Track & Field: Season is underway. Practices begin the 1st week in April.
Practices for AMR/FS are Tues & Thurs 5:00-6:30pm at Tripler’s Track.
 SB Wed & Friday 5:00-6:30pm. Track meets are held every
Saturday starting in May at Stoneman Field. Call AMR/FS on 836-1923 or SB on 655-6465 with any questions

Soccer
Youth Born 1999-2010
Cost $55
Practices will be held at reach respective registrants site
Soccer games will be held at: Watts Field for Schofield Barracks, and AMR Fields
Season: July 25-September 19

Youth Sports Wrestling: Season is underway. Practices will begin in April. 
Practices will be held Wed from 6:00-7:00pm and Fri 5:00-7:00pm at AMR Small Gym.
Schofield Barracks Bennett Gym on Tues & Thurs from 5:00-7:00pm.
If wrestlers would like to practice more than twice a week they can attend both AMR and SB practices.
Wrestling season will run April until June. If you have any further questions please call AMR/FS at 836-1923 or SB 655-6465.

Mini Soccer
Youth Born in the years 2010-2011
Cost is $20 (includes t-shirt and ball)
Practices and games will be held at the Bennett Youth Center field for Schofield, HMR, and Wheeler. AMR Fields for AMR and Ft. Shafter
Program runs April 23-Jun 11 Every Thursday 1700-1800

Youth Sports Mini Flag Football
 For youth born in the years 2010-2011.
Registration is June 1-June 30.
The season runs from July 23-Sep 10. 
This is a parent and youth participation program. This program meets once a week.
Thurs from 5:00p.m.-6:00p.m. Cost is $20.
Youth and parent receive a t-shirt. Youth receive a football.  Come out and love to learn a new sport.

Youth Sports Track & Field Opening Day-Youth Sports is hosting their annual track and field opening day on May 9 at 9:00a.m at Stoneman Stadium; located off of Leilehua Ave on Schofield Barracks. We will have Andrea Hinkle as a guest speaker. Once opening day concludes the track meet will begin.

PT in the Park: Youth Sports for the Month of the Military Child will be hosting their annual PT in the Park on April 7. PT in the park will be held at Schofield School Age Center at 1885 Lyman Rd, Bldg 1280, program will be conducted at  the Soccer Field, located on the side of the building. Please check in at the sign up table to register your kid at 6:15 am. So they can receive their free t-shirt for participating. PT stations (hurdles, ladders, cone drills, long jump, parachute run, and many more) that will run from 6:30 am-7:30 am. Youth and their parents will enjoy various fitness stations. Once PT in the park has concluded all participants will be receiving a free breakfast from 7:30 a.m.-8:30am. Special appearances will be made by Mickey & Minnie Mouse, Elmo, Elsa, Olaf, Dora the Explore and many more. Youth Sports welcomes all kids from the community, however the PT stations are age appropriated for kids 5-18 years of age.

PT in the gym: Youth Sports for the Month of the Military Child will be hosting their annual PT in the Gym. PT in the gym will be held at Ft. Shafter Physical Fitness Center at 665 Chamberlin Rd. on April 28. Please check in at the sign up table to register your kid at 6:15 am. So they can receive their free t-shirt for participating. From 6:30 a.m. -7:30 am. Participants will be doing Zumba. Once PT in the gym has concluded all participants will be receiving a free breakfast from 7:30 a.m.-8:30am... Special appearances will be made by Mickey & Minnie Mouse, Elmo, Elsa, Olaf, Dora the Explore and many more. Youth Sports Armed Forces Run- May 16 is Armed Forces Day. In celebration of our Armed Forces, Youth Sports is hosting their first Armed Forces Day Run. Armed Forces Day Run will be hosted at Stoneman Stadium located off of Leilehua Ave on Schofield Barracks. At 8:00a.m please check-in at the sign-in table. The first 300 participants to sign-in will receive a free t-shirt. Armed Forces Kids run will have a ½ mile run for youth aged 5- 6 starting at 9:00a.m. 1 mile run for youth aged 7-8 starting at 9:30a.m. 2 mile run for youth aged 9-13 years old starting at 10:00a.m. Youth Sports highly encourages parents and youth to run the events together. While the events are taking place, there will be various activities (mini golf, potato sack races, ring toss, and many more) until 12:00p.m. This event is Free to the community.  Please ensure to bring chairs or picnic blankets for seating.

Youth Sports Mini Olympic Day-on June 23 at 9:30a.m Youth Sports will be hosting our Mini Olympic Day at AMR Baseball Fields and Schofield Barracks Bennett Youth Center. Youth Sports will host various activities such as: indoor basketball, outdoor obstacle course, relay races, egg and spoon races, discus throwing using Frisbees, badminton and volleyball.  Youth will be awarded with medals and the winning center will receive a trophy.

Track and Field
Youth born in the years 1997-2007 are eligible
Cost $55 per person
Practices will be held at each respective registrants site
Track Meets will be held at Stoneman Field on Schofield Barracks and local track meets
Practice begins 1st week in April
Schofield Barracks- Wednesday & Friday 1700-1830
AMR Tuesday & Thursday- 1700-1830

Home School P.E. Classes
**Cost is Free*
Youth Sports provides a setting where home school youth can enjoy playing various sports and learning about healthier nutrition options.  Each program is age appropriate and comes from approved curriculum: BGCA, 4-H, President’s Challenge, and NAYS. Come out and make new friends!
