Individual Military Entries
Use the military entry form to participate in the run and line up with the rest of the public on race day. There are awards for the top three military male and female runners ($1000, $500 and $250).
Do’s
- Sign up online or by mail using the Great Aloha Run – Military Entry Form.
- Utilize the Great Aloha Run‘s Transportation Options. This is a point-to-point race so you will need park
at the stadium and take the free bus downtown or park downtown and take the free shuttle back
downtown after the race.
Don’t
- Get on the Sounds of Freedom Bus from your duty station.
- Run with services members in formation.
Military Race Instruction
Sounds of Freedom
The Sounds of Freedom division is composed of units running in formation. Active duty service Men and Women from all branches of service participate. This division is not timed but maximum participation is rewarded. Additionally, emphasis is placed on uniformity and esprit de corps.
Do’s
- Use the Sounds of Freedom Registration Process when signing up online or thru your SOF coordinator.
- Sign your unit up as a group and maintain unit integrity.
- Wear uniform PT Gear and reflective belt
- Individual numbers given out on morning of the race when boarding the bus (safety pins too).
- Stay together as a unit and take the transportation provided.
- Use buses for SOF before and after race.
- Wear your Bib number.
Don’t
- No civilians, family members, children, strollers or non-service members to run in the Sounds of
Freedom formation. The Sounds of Freedom division is for Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine and Coast Guard units who wish to run in formation and is limited to service members only. - Individuals participating in the open or military divisions (spouses, dependants, civilians) should not use the transportation provided for the Sounds of Freedom Units to or from various duty stations.
This transportation is exclusively for service members running in formation. - DON’T Park at the stadium, and take the bus provided the general population to the start line. The Sounds of Freedom staging area and start line are at a different location from those of the main race.
