The Family and MWR Aquatics program operates four pools at Schofield Barracks, Tripler Army Medical Center, Helemano Military Reservation (HMR), and Aliamanu Military Reservation (AMR). Richardson Pool at Schofield Barracks and the pool at Tripler Army Medical Center are open year-round, offering Active-Duty PT hours, lap swim and open swim sessions scheduled year-round. The pools in the AMR and HMR housing areas are seasonal pools, open from Memorial Day through Columbus Day each year. All the pools offer an extensive learn to swim program and a number of other water-based instructional classes and programs. Visit the Aquatics tab for more information on what’s available at each pool.
Learn to Swim Programs
Summer learn to swim programs are offered at all pools every year. Classes are available for all skill levels, from Level one, Introduction to Water Skills, all the way through Level 6, Swimming & Skill Proficiency. Classes are designed for children as young as age 3. Adult swimming classes and private lessons are also available. Children must be registered with Child, Youth and School Services in order to participate. Advanced registration is required, and due to the popularity of these programs, registrations are taken on a first-come, first-served basis.
